Prenatal to Five Relational Health Policy Committee
WA-AIMH is proud to sit on the legislatively created Washington State Children and Youth Behavioral Health Work Group (CYBHWG) to ensure that the unique needs of infants, toddlers and young children are represented in mental health policies. In summer of 2019, WA-AIMH Executive Director, Jamie Elzea, launched a Prenatal to Five Relational Health Committee (P-5 Committee) as a subgroup of the CMHWG (now called the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Work Group) in order to bring a wider group of perinatal and early childhood professionals together to identify Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) systems challenges and explore possible policy solutions.
In Fall of 2020, the P-5 Committee brought our recommendations to the larger CYBHWG and were pleased to see the issues our committee cared about move forward from the committee for legislative recommendations.
